Controversial Offshore Wind Farms

The decision on building an offshore wind farm in Cape Cod has been aproved by the secretary of the interior, however few things have been changed. They are reducing the number of windmills in order to please the families that live there, including the Kennedy Family. Do you think it's fair for the government to moderate this landmark project just to please a couple of families who live around it? Should the government focus more on the benefits for the environment or on the small implications on Cape Cod from this project?

In my belief this is something that should have been done a long time ago. in the video its stated that the some of the Kennedy family politicians have said that it wont pay off in the long run. Its almost permanent renewable energy. The only problem that could arise from the wind generators is that they would need to be anchored securely which you couldn't do offshore easily without spending a lot of effort and money with contractors.
you do have to consider however that this is fox news and the whole story "probably" wasn't told.
In my opinion it seems like they tried to use as many glorified images of wind energy as possible showing a side of bias. along side that they also fed the Kennedy's off to be belligerent aristocrats, which it is entirely possible that they are however yet again the full story needs to be clarified to show the truth through

I believe that it is fair that the wind turbines be regulated to a point because of the families who live there because the families are the ones who will have to live with the giant things outside their windows. I also believe that this is such a landmark event because it has to do with the conservation of America's natural beauty, which was also an issue in drilling for oil in Alaska. This news cast did not really touch on the reasons that the families were against the building of the wind turbines very much and tried to focus more on the positive aspects of turbines by showing images of successful land turbines. Also the news cast employed logos by stating how much the obama administration poured over the pros and cons and how teams of scientists also weighed the outcome, which gives the sense that the project will be successful.
