Generation Y

What is this cartoon portraying about our generation? What is the argument being stated? How is it stated?

Do you agree?

This cartoon shows our generation as an ass. They portray us as people that can't even keep their pants up. Now as a person who doesn't neccesarily keep my pants strictly around my waistline but at the same time able to outhink many, I don't think this arguement is legit. In every younger generation that grows, the older generation finds something that dont like about it.

Well I dont agree with this at all, just because our generation is young and not old like the baby bloomers doesn't mean were asses! We just need time to grow and become mature adults.

There is some truthfulness to the picture, however some of it is over-exaggerated. The truth in the image is pointing out of Generation "Y" being saggers, and showing their butts (haha) but in a way, the adults are becoming a bit too critical. Although ultra-sagging is just ridiculous, I feel that the generations from before (such as baby boomers) are trying to point the fingers at the future of America.. I'm POSITIVE that when the Baby Boomers were children, the adults in that time pointed down on them. So all of this is basically tradition.

They are not portraying Gen Y as asses, just satirically noting that sagging, however unflattering, is something that gen Y is known for. On an slightly unrelated note, I read an article yesterday that stated the origins of sagging were gay guys in prison announcing their "availability," for lack of a better word. I'll never do hall duty the same way now.

This cartoon is stating that one of our latest fashion fads is based on indecency. One that has no respect for the common public. One that sticks it to the man. However, I don't fully agree with this, for this is but One fashion that this generation finds comfort in. This cartoon has a negative, sort of foreboding tone to it, making it seem like a change is taking place that is just inconcieveable. Not everybody in the 1920's became flappers. It isn't a whole generation that is making this change.

This picture has some validity to it however I also feel like our generation is any worse then the last generation. This post is say that our generation is and will make a complete ass out of ourselves. However I don't think we are doing any worse then previous generations. Things have just changed, we are more comfortable with sexuality then previous years, we're more aware of the other sex. We think really low pants are cool, you thought rally high pants were cool, we think rap is awesome, you think the rolling stones was kick ass. (even thought they are definitely kick ass) You used hard drugs, and some of our generation unfortunately still does as well. So you see we may have our differences but look how the 60's acid tripping sex loving hippies turned out. Just as responsible as the majority of us will. We just need time, like you, to realize having your butt hang looks awful and speaking in an entirely different language that is apparently still English, is ridiculous. and we will learn. In time just let us learn. Like You.

Generation Y is saying that the children today are stupid and all we do is dress sexually and with our pants hanging off our butts. To me, honestly i don't think the way a person dresses depicts them at all they way a person dresses is what they are comfortable in wearing. You can't judge how smart or dumd a person is just by the way they dress or carry themselves when around a certian group of people.

live life to the fullest..you have to be young before you can get old so our generation will learn but at this time day and age we gone do what we want to do and that is living life before it gets really serious.

our generation is stupid, ungratefull and selfish. We dont care about school, or the economy or anything except goofing off and being "cool"! its really gona hurt us when we have to grow up and be the leaders of the country.

our generation is for the most part "ungratefull and selfish" however not stupid. the kids that go through the halls that have their generation y showing, know things that other people have absolutley no clue about. granted some of those things are things that a lot of us dont WANT to have a clue about. but still. they have their own choices to make and their own ideals and in essence their own life. we all know that our society is split into many different sections, its not like ALL people think were ALL generation Y's. a lot of people realize were individualistic parts of society as a whole.

I agree with this cartoon, specifically for the sagging! Our generation is a group who has lived through the sagging of pants, we started it and thank the lord we are ending it.... haha
