No U.S currency please!

What is this cartoon trying to say about the economy?

the idea of beggars being choosers is pretty ironic. the illustrator is trying to imply that there is a poor man on the street, but the economy is so bad that US money wont help him. it's juxtaposing how spoiled we are as americans with how bad our money situation is currently. funny the logos saying that logically it's unwise to ask of american money when in need... play on words with "US dollar tanks" considering america has been viewed as the "big brother" of the world for a while now, and here we are, our money useless, yet we're still stuck n a war.

American money sucks, simple as that. Are money is no longer backed up by anything except "trust". So when our economy tanks so does the the American dollar. Using horatian satire which uses pathos style of media it comments on our economic standing, and how that even the beggars don't want money that isn't backed up.

I agree with the cartoon, the American economy is in down turn and the dollar is dropping while the Euro and Pound Sterling are strong as ever. The stark contrast of the beggar preferring non-American currency really drives in the point.

the author uses logos and ehtos to present that the U.S dollar is going down, basically isn't worth as much and many people are suffering just like depicted in the picture

The cartoon illustrates how the economy is diminishing and how it is affecting the average American. AS our economy slums everyday the dollar decreases in value. Americans are being affected in several way like unemployment. This cartoon satirizes this by as Nina said playing on the idea beggars cannot be choosers. The irony makes the cartoon because it shows our pride as americans, and how we will also continue to be 'choosers' even when most of us are barely even 'beggars'.

The cartoon uses ethos to show how the US currency isn't benfical to the poor man on the street. Its juxtaposing how careless we are with money even though the economy is at its worst. When our econmy hits the fan... so will the american dollar.

This cartoon is alluding to how the dollar is decreasing in value. the Dollar in the artist view is getting so depreciated that even a homeless guy doesnt want a dollar, because it is worth nothing as it is just paper. This cartoon appeals to emotion and logic. It's emotional because it shows how bad the dollar has gotten, and that effects everyone.

This cartoon is showing how the value of the american dollar is decreasing to an amount that not even beggars want our money. This is very ironic, the american economy is suppost to be this great thing and everyone wants to be a part of it but now not even the beggars what a piece of the pie. This just infasizes how bad the economy has become to reach this point in our society and if we continue in the same fashion we have been, we make reach this point faster than we would like to imagine.

This shows just how bad the US economy has become. It makes the old saying beggars cant be choosers very ironic, especially to the fact that they don't want currency from a country that is usually precived as the most dominant, the United States. This appeals to the pathos as people who don't have anything don't want anything from our country. This is a huge red flag and makes it almost embarrassing to say that you use that currency daily. It then drives logos to wonder if we are doing something terribly wrong and what we need to do to change what is wrong. It just exemplifies the argument that the United States is suffering economically and continues slip around the power ladder of countries if it hasn't already fallen.

This cartoon is using horatian satire to show how the American economy is depleting so low that it is no longer desirable, even by the standards of a beggar with nothing else. The news paper in his hand says that the us dollar is tanking which is ironic since we are so spoiled and we are supposed to be a powerful country. What does that say about our ego compared to our reality?

This cartoon is implying that our economy is so bad that even our money won't help him. It will just put us in greater debt.
