Dettol hand sanitizer advertisement

It is inevitable that the the world we live in is filled with bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other deadly germs. How does this advertisement demonstrate the transfer of germs within our daily lives? Do you think that this is trying to argue that hand sanitizer is a supplement to soap, or an alternative means of washing hands? Discuss the rhetoric devices within the advertisement, and discuss the accuracy and validity in how it is conveying germs.

This advertisement does a good job in demonstrating the constant interaction we have with germs daily: with the phone, doorknobs, keys, remote controls, other peoples hands. This advertisement shows that germs can be anywhere and gives a solution to help control these germs with dettol hand sanitizer. Although they offer this as a solution to control these germs, I dont think they are trying to argue to use this product over soap. I think they are trying to sell it as an extra protector of germs along with the normal method of washing hands- or at least that's how it should be sold!
By substituting the hand with many other hands shows that germs can be found on many surfaces and in many situations. Also, by placing a small bottle of hand sanitizer at the bottom of the advertisement gives the subtle message that the simple and small act of using dettol hand sanitizer can prevent big problems.

This ad does a really great job of showing all of the things that people touch without thinking on a daily basis. This also says without needing words at all that it's hand sanitizer can handle all of those things that are making up the hand, and can clea your hand and put it back to its original "cleanliness" haha
